The Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project through Dong Nai province and Ho Chi Minh City has a total length of nearly 54km, divided into 3 component projects.
While component project 3 passing through Ho Chi Minh City (19.5km long) was technically opened to traffic in April 2025, the remaining 2 component projects passing through Dong Nai province (34km long) are completing the final items for operation on April 30, 2026.
The biggest difficulty at component project 1 (about 16km long) has reached about 80% of the contract value. Mr. Ho Van Ha - Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee requested to ensure traffic opening by the end of April 2026 to operate synchronously with other component projects of the project.
According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, at the starting point of component project 1, intersecting with Vo Nguyen Giap street, Phuoc Tan ward, Dong Nai province, asphalt has been paved and construction is being completed. The contractor is installing median strips, long mon racks...
As for component project 2, construction units are urgently completing the final stages of the project to ensure operating conditions.
Key tasks such as asphalt paving, median strip construction, fences, lighting systems, traffic safety warning systems, signs... have been basically completed and are implementing the connection of traffic routes to merge into the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway.
Project Management Board 85 (investor of component project 2) has sent a report to the Ministry of Construction and requested to adjust the postponement of the temporary operation of the main route to April 2026, and adjust the traffic organization plan.
On the other hand, due to contractors encountering some difficulties, the progress of completing the remaining items is slow; some items must be adjusted and supplemented, such as the current condition of the road surface of Bung Mon street (connecting vehicles to enter the expressway from National Highway 51 according to the adjusted traffic organization plan) has been heavily damaged and degraded, many "potholes and craters" locations need to be repaired to ensure safe traffic.
Along with that, contractors also have to supplement and construct some temporary service road sections...
According to the plan, the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau expressway will be fully opened to traffic on April 30, 2026.
