On March 4, DT 743 road section from Mieu Ong Cu intersection to the intersection with Doc Lap road was re-laned. This road section is about 12 km long with 6 lanes passing through Di An, Binh Hoa, An Phu, Tan Dong Hiep, Tan Khanh wards. The road has a hard median strip in the middle, 3 lanes on each side.
DT 743 road is adjusted to divide lanes as follows: Lane 1 (next to the sidewalk) is organized for motorbikes, 2-wheeled vehicles and 3-wheeled vehicles to circulate; lane 2 is organized for cars, passenger cars under 25 seats, buses, trucks under 3.5 tons to circulate; lane 3 (next to the median strip) is organized for cars to circulate.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction, this road is re-laned in the direction of heavy trucks circulating close to the median strip. Re-lanening for vehicles to circulate is one of the solutions for vehicles to move conveniently. In addition, it is also aimed at ensuring safety for people participating in traffic, limiting accidents between motorbikes and container trucks on this road.
According to records, DT 743 road is one of the main traffic routes in the North of Ho Chi Minh City. The road passes through many residential areas, connecting industrial parks and logistics centers. Every day, this road welcomes a large volume of traffic. Major intersections such as 550 intersection, An Phu intersection, Mieu Ong Cu intersection often experience congestion. Currently, according to regulations, this road is still prohibited for trailers, semi-trailers and trucks over 10 tons to circulate during peak hours.
