On September 13, speaking with Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Nguyen Van Quang - Chairman of Chau Que Ha Commune People's Committee, Van Yen District, Yen Bai Province said that on the night of September 12, early this morning in Ban Tat village, the hill shook, with the risk of landslides.
Immediately afterwards, the local government urgently raised the alarm and mobilized forces to evacuate 100 people from Ban Tat to a temporary cultural house to avoid natural disasters.
However, in Tat village, Chau Que Ha commune, a landslide still occurred, causing the entire house of Mr. Hoang Nguyen Lam to collapse, killing his nephew Hoang Tien A (born in 2012) and injuring his niece Hoang Minh T (born in 2011).
Currently, the locality is supporting families with casualties and increasing forces to transport essential supplies, ensuring the lives and initial living conditions of people who are temporarily staying.
Previously, on September 12, in Khe Phao village, Chau Que Ha commune, a landslide also occurred, killing 3 people who were peeling cinnamon on the hill.
Up to now, floods in Yen Bai have left 50 people dead and missing, of which 47 died due to landslides.
