According to Lao Dong's records on September 12, hundreds of boxes of relief goods sent by Australia to people in flooded areas of Yen Bai were neatly arranged at the Provincial Federation of Labor's Sports and Gymnasium.
Speaking to reporters, Deputy Secretary of Yen Bai Provincial Youth Union Dong Manh Linh said that currently, relief goods from Australia Aid are being gathered at the warehouse of the Yen Bai Provincial Fatherland Front and other organizations.
"Yesterday, Yen Bai Provincial Youth Union was assigned to receive supplies from abroad for the province. The supplies will be distributed to the flood areas according to the province's plan.
However, because the shipment arrived quite late, Yen Bai Provincial Youth Union still does not know where the supplies will be delivered," informed Mr. Dong Manh Linh.
Previously, on the afternoon of September 11, a shipment of storm relief supplies supported by Australia arrived at Noi Bai airport and was transported straight to Yen Bai.
Present at Noi Bai airport to witness the handover ceremony were Ms. Vu Thi Hien Hanh, Vice Chairwoman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee and Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Andrew Goledzinowski.
At the foot of the Royal Australian Air Force C17, Vice Chairwoman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee - Ms. Vu Thi Hien Hanh said that she was really touched by the Australian Aid's support shipment to Vietnam, specifically Yen Bai today.
