In the afternoon of September 10th, due to the impact of the cold air wave, moderate to heavy rain with strong thunderstorms occurred in Lac Dao commune.
At about 2:30 pm, thunderstorms swept through the Trung Kien village area, mainly concentrated in the old Mu and Giua village areas, causing damage to houses, power grid works, telecommunications and crops of people.
Strong whirlwinds blew off the tiles and corrugated iron roofs of many households. Many corrugated iron sheets on high floors were blown away by the wind dozens to hundreds of meters. There were cases where corrugated iron sheets were blown away and caught in high-voltage power lines, posing a potential safety risk.
Storms also broke and knocked down some power poles, and broke power lines and telecommunications cables. The low-voltage substation in the area at the beginning of old Mu village also had an incident, leading to local power outages, affecting people's lives.

Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, leaders of Lac Dao commune said that through initial inspection, the locality has not recorded any casualties. Regarding property, tornadoes blew off the roofs of some houses and caused damage to the electrical system.
In which, one power pole was broken, the power system encountered problems, causing power outages for people in some areas. The locality is coordinating to inspect and overcome power incidents, and at the same time review other damages caused by storms and tornadoes.
Leaders of Lac Dao commune said that due to the unexpected storm and the time for inspection and statistics to be deployed, there is currently no specific figure on the total value of damaged property.
The locality is continuing to inspect the affected areas, statistically assess the damage situation of each household and infrastructure projects to have remedial plans.
Right in the afternoon of September 10, commune leaders and related forces went to the scene, focusing on inspecting heavily affected areas, and at the same time directing the handling of electricity and telecommunications incidents and supporting people to overcome the situation of roof blowing and stabilize their lives.
