Dong Nai supports Lao Cai with 7 billion VND to overcome the consequences of natural disasters

On November 3, Dong Nai Provincial Party Secretary Vu Hong Van and the working delegation presented 7 billion VND in support to Lao Cai province to overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

At the support handover ceremony, Mr. Vu Hong Van - Secretary of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee shared: Faced with the heavy damage caused by natural disasters to localities across the country, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province has called on individuals, groups, and philanthropists to support overcoming the consequences.

After nearly 1 month of implementation, the province has received more than 58.5 billion VND from more than 7,000 individuals and groups to support people in 10 provinces that suffered heavy damage from floods.

On this occasion, Dong Nai province supported Lao Cai province with a total amount of 7 billion VND to overcome the consequences of natural disasters. Of which, 1 billion VND was spent to support the families of Lao Cai Provincial Police soldiers affected by natural disasters and floods.

Informing the working group of Dong Nai province, Mr. Trinh Viet Hung - Secretary of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee said that Lao Cai has recently been one of the localities that suffered great damage due to floods.

In particular, the circulation of storm No. 10 caused heavy damage to people and property; the total damage is estimated at over 2,750 billion VND.

During natural disasters, the entire political system quickly took action to direct response and overcoming the consequences. The province acknowledges the dedication, effectiveness and bravery of the officers and soldiers of the armed forces in helping people evacuate and relocate people and property before and during floods; and in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.

The Lao Cai Provincial Party Secretary thanked the special affection of the cadres and people of Dong Nai province, contributing to helping people in disaster areas overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives soon.

Consecutive storms and floods have caused many deaths, missing and injuries; many houses and production and business establishments have had their roofs blown off and suffered heavy damage. People across the northern mountainous provinces and the central provinces are struggling to cope with floods and heavy losses in human lives and property due to floods and thunderstorms.
