Dong Thap Provincial Party Secretary Le Quoc Phong suggested that localities focus highly on completing the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in July 2025.

On April 25, Mr. Le Quoc Phong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in Dong Thap province (Steering Committee) - chaired the 4th meeting of the Steering Committee.

According to the report of the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee, by April 24, 2025, the whole province had started construction and repair of houses for households with revolutionary contributions, poor households, and near-poor households with 1,593/2,311 houses (reaching 68.93%). Of which, 824 units have been completed and put into use.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee Le Quoc Phong highly appreciated the spirit and responsibility of sectors and localities in implementing the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses.

" Localities must consider the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for people as an important task and must do it early to avoid the situation of continuing to hand over this work to new communes, the handover procedures are complicated" - Mr. Phong emphasized.

In that spirit, Mr. Phong suggested that localities focus highly on the completion of the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in July 2025.
