On April 25, at the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South, reuniting the country, Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Tien Hai announced, the province completed the program of erasing temporary houses and dilapidated houses in the province under the direction of the Central Government.
After nearly 1 year of implementation, with the drastic participation of the entire political system, consensus, and joint efforts of organizations, business communities, and people in the province, the Program to Eliminate Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Kien Giang Province has achieved very encouraging results.
Up to today, the whole province of Kien Giang has supported the construction and major repair of 3,618 houses for poor and near-poor households with a total amount of about 229 billion VND (of which the family was encouraged to contribute more than 17 billion VND).
