On July 27, reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper recorded that the project to upgrade and repair Ke Go lake in Cam Due commune has entered the final stage.
The contractor is a joint venture of Construction Joint Stock Company 47 - Lilama 10 Joint Stock Company - Construction Joint Stock Company 465, which is focusing on construction to complete and hand over the project.
Currently, workers are focusing on constructing concrete for the Doc Mieu flood spillway and repairing the water intake tower.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Hieu - official of the Irrigation Investment and Construction Management Board 1 - said that the project to upgrade and repair Ke Go Lake has now reached a total construction volume of about 98%.
The project of pouring concrete for the Dốc Miếu flood spillway has now been almost completed. Recently, the contractor has focused maximum manpower to accelerate the construction progress. However, in recent days there has been afternoon rain, which has affected the construction," Mr. Hieu shared.
According to Mr. Hieu, the project will be completed and handed over on December 31, 2026. With the construction volume achieved as it is now, it is expected that the completion and handover of the entire project will ensure the set schedule. However, it is still necessary to make great efforts to accelerate in favorable weather days before the rainy and flood season comes.
The project to upgrade and repair Ke Go Lake has a total investment of 350 billion VND from central capital, invested by the Irrigation Investment and Construction Management Board 1, and started on December 27, 2024.
The project includes items: Repairing and upgrading the main dam, auxiliary dams 1 and 2, Doc Mieu spillway, water intake culvert, Doc Mieu spillway management and operation building and behind the main dam; building a new flood discharge spillway.
Ke Go reservoir was built in 1976, with a capacity of 345 million m3, and is the most important irrigation project in Ha Tinh.
Ke Go Lake not only serves irrigation for tens of thousands of hectares of agricultural land but also has the task of cutting and reducing floods for downstream areas, supplying domestic water and maintaining the ecological environment.
The project to upgrade and repair Ke Go reservoir contributes to smooth and effective operation in irrigation, flood cutting and ensuring dam safety, especially during the rainy and flood season.
