For many years, the Meeting Point intersection, Tan Thinh ward (Thai Nguyen city) has become a traffic jam hot spot due to inadequacies in traffic infrastructure.
This is an important intersection, connecting Thai Nguyen University with Z115 road and is a section of the Bac Son road extension project worth thousands of billions of VND, which started in 2018 but has been stalled for a long time.

The extended Bac Son road project has a total investment of more than VND 2,100 billion, expected to create a transversal connection axis between the city center and Nui Coc lake.
Although not yet completed, the route still has many temporary vehicles, especially at the December intersection, which is the intersection between the main road, the branch and the traffic from the overpass.
Due to not being handed over, the installation of traffic lights, signs or lane division cannot be done, easily causing congestion and traffic insecurity.
As a resident living near this area, Mr. Nguyen Van Lam said that every afternoon, taking his children home from school crosses the road, sometimes it takes a long time to wait because vehicles are crowded.

"Motors and cars jostle each other, everyone moves strongly, sometimes just a minor collision can cause prolonged congestion, very tiring. Therefore, when the project was restarted, everyone was happy and hoped that the traffic congestion that had existed for many years would soon be relieved, Mr. Lam added.
Similarly, Ms. Vu Phuong Thanh, a student at Thai Nguyen University, also said that for a long time, traffic jams here, especially in the late afternoon and evening, have become a nightmare for many people.
"Many days when I come home from school, the road is jammed, and the traffic in the back cannot move. Many times I had to turn around and take another road, accepting to go further. I hope this section will be improved soon to make it more convenient for vehicles to travel," Ms. Thanh shared.
According to PV's records in May 2025, after many years of inactivity, the contractor has now restarted the project, focusing on construction at key intersections.

Workers and machinery have been mobilized to deploy items such as road surfaces, sidewalks, trees, lighting, etc.
Mr. Do Thanh Chung - Director of Xuan Truong Construction Enterprise (investor) said that the unit has mobilized maximum human resources and machinery, organized 10 construction teams to simultaneously complete 3 items along the entire route and committed to completing and handing over the entire project in the second quarter of 2025
Talking to reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Viet Bang - Chairman of Tan Thinh Ward People's Committee confirmed that the congestion and congestion at the Doi Da intersection has lasted for many years, causing many difficulties for traffic participants.
According to the ward leader, the restart of the project not only contributes to completing urban infrastructure but is also expected to directly remove traffic congestion in this area, helping people travel more safely and conveniently in the future.
