On April 24, information from Duong Dong Ward Police (Phu Quoc City, Kien Giang Province) said that yesterday afternoon (April 23), they organized a return of lost property to a Korean tourist, after a local picked it up and reported it.
At 3:45 p.m. on April 23, at Dinh Cau beach area (Duong Dong ward), Mr. Tran Tin Nghia (born in 1974, residing in Ho Chi Minh City, staying at a hotel in Duong To commune) picked up a wallet. Inside the wallet were a number of assets including: 1 million Korean Won (equivalent to nearly 19 million VND), a credit card and many personal documents. Immediately afterwards, he brought it to Duong Dong Ward Police to report, asking the police to help find the person who lost the property.
Through verification, Duong Dong Ward Police coordinated with the Working Group of the Immigration Department of Kien Giang Provincial Police to determine that the wallet belonged to Mr. S.Y.H (born in 1960), his wife, Mrs. B. (born in 1962). Both of them are Korean nationals, staying at a hotel in Duong Dong Ward, and while coming to Dinh Cau beach, they dropped the wallet.
At the police station, after the procedures for identity confirmation, the wallet was returned to the owner. Mr. H expressed his emotion and sent his sincere thanks to Mr. Nghia and the police force for helping to find the property. This beautiful action also leaves a deep impression on tourists when coming to Phu Quoc.
