On November 25, in a working session with Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) and related units on the project to repair and upgrade Lien Khuong airport, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai requested ACV to soon have an official report on the airport closure date; at the same time, set the opening time after completing the repair work.

A representative of Vietnam Airports Corporation, the project investor, said that the project to repair and upgrade Lien Khuong airport has a total investment value of nearly 1,000 billion VND.
The project aims to repair runway items, drainage systems, and infrastructure to ensure flight techniques.
ACV representative informed that previously, the unit proposed that Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee close the airport to construct the project from November 2025, but then adjusted the time, postponing it to March 2026.

According to ACV representative, the unit plans to close the airport from March to August 2026 for construction because this is the time when Lam Dong enters the dry season, favorable for repairs.
On the other hand, the weather is good at this time, Lam Dong is not affected by rain, wind, or landslides, so road traffic is guaranteed.
We plan to close the airport on March 4, 2026 for construction and will complete it before July 31, 2026. After the repair, ACV floated in accordance with regulations and reopened the airport from September 1, 2026. We are committed to completing the repair as soon as possible, said an ACV representative.
According to Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai, the September 2 holiday is one of the important times when the locality welcomes tourists.
Therefore, he suggested that ACV soon complete the construction and standard flights to be able to open the airport to serve people and tourists before August 25, 2026.
In response to this proposal, ACV representative said that the time gap was not too large, so the unit would try to meet the schedule.
