Vinh Long beach tourism aims to diversify products and attract tourists

HOÀNG LỘC |

Vinh Long - Truong Long Hoa beach tourism promotes sea advantages, connects destinations, diversifies products and improves service quality for tourists.

Diversifying products to retain tourists

Vinh Long beach tourism has many advantages, in which Long Hoa School owns Ba Dong Beach Tourist Area and a system of cultural, historical, spiritual and coastal eco-tourism destinations.

However, to effectively exploit this advantage, the locality is focusing on forming unique products, increasing experiences and connecting destinations, instead of just relying on sea advantages.

According to local orientation, Ba Dong will be linked with Ba Dong Lighthouse, Con Tau Weapons Reception Wharf Relic, Truc Lam Zen Monastery, Con Trung Temple and Nuong Nuong Upper Martyrs' House.

Truong Long Hoa ward also focuses on forming accommodation, entertainment, and experience areas, and at the same time introduces 11 3-star OCOP products of the locality and typical products of the province to serve tourists.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hai - Chairman of Truong Long Hoa Ward People's Committee said that the locality is strengthening the management of business activities at Ba Dong Sea Tourist Area, mobilizing households to list prices, ensure food safety and maintain environmental sanitation.

Along with that, garbage collection, landscape embellishment, green tree care and security and order assurance are maintained, aiming to build Ba Dong green, clean, beautiful, and civilized.

These requirements show that improving service quality, diversifying products and creating a friendly tourism environment are important factors to increase stay time, spending levels and the ability of tourists to return.

Linking tourism with marine economic pillars

Not only developing destinations, Truong Long Hoa ward is placing tourism in the overall marine economic development, along with aquaculture, trade, services and renewable energy.

The locality maintains stability with about 3.2 thousand hectares of shrimp, clam, and oyster farming, with seafood output in 2026 estimated at over 20 thousand tons. In the first 8 months of 2026, total farming and exploitation output reached nearly 16.256 thousand tons, completing 81% of the resolution.

The ward also builds a clean shrimp value chain with 4 farming households participating, linking with consumption businesses to increase product value and stabilize output. This is a resource to develop experiences associated with coastal production.

Besides seafood, renewable energy is a bright spot of Truong Long Hoa ward with 3 wind power plants V1-1, V1-2 and V1-3 currently operating, with a total capacity of 144 MW, investment capital of 6,634 billion VND; the locality continues to coordinate site clearance for expansion projects, phase 2, with a total capital of about 4,600 billion VND.

According to Mr. Duong Hoang Sum, the tourism industry also coordinates training to raise people's awareness of cultural behavior, aiming to build each citizen into a tourism ambassador, contributing to creating a friendly environment.

At the working session on August 26, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Lam Minh Dang requested Truong Long Hoa ward to identify marine economy as a pillar, linking marine tourism with ecology, spirituality, history, aquaculture, cuisine and e-commerce.
