Dak Lak - In recent years, the Buon Don district government has developed a community tourism model, contributing significantly to job creation.

People earn income from participating in tourism

Within the framework of Sub-project 3, Project 5 under the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas, Buon Don District has implemented many activities to support local communities in developing sustainable tourism.

One of the bright spots of this model is Buon Tri (Krong Na commune), home to 12 ethnic groups such as Ade, M'ong, Ja Rai, Lao, Kinh... with 117 traditional stilt houses typical of the Central Highlands.

Buon Tri still preserves many unique customs and festivals such as the wharf worship ceremony, the elephant health worship ceremony, the gong festival, the Buon Don Elephant Festival, the traditional Bunpimay Festival of the Lao people... along with rich and attractive cuisine.

According to the People's Committee of Buon Don district, it is the unique culture and national identity that has made Buon Tri an attractive destination for a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.

The increase in the number of tourists has created conditions for people in the business of learning how to do tourism, catering, organizing cultural and artistic performances, expanding local product business activities... From there, people increase their income, improve the quality of life.

Ms. H'Bi - a resident of Buon Tri - shared: "Previously, the whole family only lived on two sao of cassava and corn fields, with a very unstable income. Now, my wife and I participate in cooking for restaurants, performing gong dance, selling handicrafts to tourists... so life has become much less difficult".

Not only that, the community spirit and consensus in developing tourism are also clearly demonstrated through Mr. Y Nan Knul voluntarily donating land to build parking lots and public toilets to serve tourists. He is also planning to invest in building accommodation to meet the growing demand for resorts.

Investing in tourism infrastructure development

Another positive factor is Mr. Y No Ly Kbuor - a member of the Nghe Ti ethnic band, who has many years of experience performing to serve tourists. With his contributions, he contributed significantly to making the image of Buon Tri spread more widely on the tourism map.
