Agricultural and rural tourism attracts international visitors
Ninh Binh tourism is now gradually "transforming" to become one of the favorite destinations for domestic and international tourists. With the development of agricultural, rural and community tourism, it not only creates attractive experiences to attract tourists, thereby spreading the unique culture of the ancient capital, but also contributes to improving the lives of local people.
Ninh Binh is not only known for its many scenic spots but also has great potential for cultural tourism. Taking advantage of that, many tourism products have developed, in which tourism services associated with agriculture, rural areas, community tourism, the most popular of which is the homestay and farmstay model, which is effectively invested and traded by people. Thanks to tourism, many households have escaped poverty and become rich in their homeland.
Community tourism has begun to develop strongly in Ninh Binh since 2010. This is a type of activity suitable for the natural, cultural and social conditions of the province as well as the increasing choice of tourists, especially international tourists.
Mr. Vu Hoai Chuong - Chairman of Gia Van Commune People's Committee (Ninh Binh) said that the farmstay type started to form in 2005 when tourists came to visit Van Long Flooded Nature Reserve and wanted to stay at people's homes.
Since then, this type of tourism has been spread throughout the commune and neighboring communes. Gia Van people, in addition to growing rice, crops, raising livestock and poultry, also provide tourism services, from welcoming to introducing and promoting the unique natural and cultural values of the locality to tourists.
"When coming here, in addition to experiencing daily activities with local people such as: going to the market, cooking, rice grinding, rice pounding, coughing, rice planting, water splashing... visitors can also participate in a tour by buffalo and cow car to visit the scenery of the Northern countryside, sit on a bamboo boat to admire the charming beauty of the country in the Van Long nature reserve" - Mr. Chuong shared.
Meanwhile, in Hoa Lu ward and Nam Hoa Lu ward, the homestay model is being strongly developed. This accommodation service has helped many families earn more income and stabilize their lives. In addition to eating and sleeping, visitors can also participate in family activities such as cooking and organizing parties. Many households also combine selling some local items as souvenirs such as: hot rice, handicraft products, bamboo and rattan.
"Thanks to combining agricultural production, promoting the cultural values of traditional craft villages with tourism, many households have escaped poverty and become rich on their homeland" - Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung - Chairman of Nam Hoa Lu Ward People's Committee shared.
Supporting people in tourism
Mr. Bui Van Manh - Director of Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Tourism said that to encourage people to do tourism, the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Council has issued a number of policies to support tourism development in Ninh Binh province in the period of 2023 - 2030. Accordingly, households in Ninh Binh province when investing in building new houses with rooms for tourists to rent (homestay) will be supported with 100 million VND, and those who learn tourism will be supported with 4.5 million VND.
For organizations, households, and individuals doing tourism business in Ninh Binh province who build new houses to provide accommodation services for tourists under the homestay type will be supported with a maximum of 100 million VND/works and for cases of renovation and repair, it will be 50 million VND/works.
The condition for receiving support is that organizations, households and individuals must meet the conditions for doing tourism business according to the provisions of law; comply with the provisions of law on construction, investment, and business; homestay after being invested in building new or upgraded or renovated must have a service scale of 15 tourists or more and meet the conditions according to National Standard TCVN 7800:2017 on housing with rooms for tourists to rent.
In addition, Ninh Binh province also has other support policies such as: Supporting the organization of training courses, fostering professional skills and tourism knowledge; supporting local people and workers to participate in tourism training courses organized in Ninh Binh province; supporting tourism business organizations and individuals in Ninh Binh province to participate in domestic and foreign tourism promotion programs.
Support the establishment and maintenance of art troupes and mass art clubs in localities to serve tourists; support organizations, households, and individuals doing tourism business in the province to invest in developing new tourism products to serve tourists; policies to support the conservation and promotion of the value of the world's cultural and natural heritage Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex.
Ninh Binh province also supports 20% of the cost of participating in domestic and foreign tourism promotion programs for tourism business organizations and individuals in the province participating in promotional programs approved by the Department of Tourism (supporting the cost of renting booths, designing, setting up booths, producing tourism publications, air tickets, etc.).
Developing agricultural and rural tourism associated with building new rural areas
According to Director of Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Tourism Bui Van Manh, Ninh Binh province currently has more than 2,000 households doing community tourism services, the most popular of which is the homestay and farmstay model. Ninh Binh Department of Tourism has planned to develop agricultural and rural tourism in conjunction with the national target program on new rural construction. Thereby, creating jobs and increasing income for rural people through developing tourism services in the locality.
In addition, it will contribute to the successful implementation of the national goal of new rural construction. Promote the shift in rural economic structure towards developing tourism services. At the same time, it will increase the effective exploitation of tourism resources, promote the advantages of typical rural tourism products.
"Local people directly participate in tourism service activities, increasing the rate of rural workers who are trained and trained in skills. From there, gradually form and develop the brand of some typical rural tourism products of the province, capable of competing with other localities" - Mr. Manh shared.
According to Mr. Manh, Ninh Binh Department of Tourism is conducting a survey on the current situation, learning about the potential and strengths of each locality in the province to advise on the development of types of tourism services. At the same time, build tours connecting experiential eco-tourism destinations, cultural identity, unique traditional cuisine, handicraft villages... on that basis, coordinate with units and localities to complete tourism products and services.
In addition, the Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Tourism also organized a tour group to visit and learn from experiences in localities with developed agricultural and rural tourism. At the same time, integrate and organize promotional activities and promote domestic and foreign destinations and rural tourism products. Implement activities to raise awareness and international cooperation on rural tourism development. Compile and print documents for guidance, training, fostering and promoting rural tourism products and services.
