According to the plan, the Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road project will open phase 1 from Phan Thuc Duyen tunnel (from the beginning of the route to Hoang Hoa Tham) and complete all 3 connecting positions from the route to T3 station (above and below ground) on January 20, 2025.
The Management Board of Investment and Construction of Traffic Works in Ho Chi Minh City (Traffic Board) said: "Up to now, the two construction packages of phase 1 of the project have reached more than 98% completion, and contractors are working hard to complete the final items in time for the opening of traffic on January 20."
According to the Traffic Department, the remaining section (from Hoang Hoa Tham Street to the end of the route) is expected to be handed over before February 20 and completed and opened to traffic before April 30, to serve the T3 terminal of Tan Son Nhat airport which will come into operation on April 30.
This section is currently stuck with 68 households. A representative of Tan Binh District People's Committee said that there are currently 22 cases that are partially affected and have not agreed to the compensation plan. According to the plan, before Tet, Tan Binh District will complete the demolition and hand over the site of 46 cases that have agreed to the compensation and resettlement support plan to implement the construction.
For the remaining 22 cases on the frontage and alleys 111, 119, 116 Tran Van Du street, the district will increase contact and mobilize households to hand over the premises to the Traffic Department by the end of February 2025.
Construction started at the end of 2022, the Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road project is more than 4 km long, with a total investment of more than 4,800 billion VND.
This is a completely new route, starting from the Tran Quoc Hoan - Phan Thuc Duyen intersection and ending at the C12 - Cong Hoa - Truong Chinh intersection.
The main road is 25 m to 48 m wide, with 6 lanes, and two connecting roads with 3 to 4 lanes wide.
On the route, there is an overpass in front of station T3 and two underpasses at the major intersections of Tran Quoc Hoan - Phan Thuc Duyen and Truong Chinh - Tan Ky Tan Quy.
When completed, this route will connect directly to Tan Son Nhat Airport Terminal 3, opening up additional access to the airport and reducing traffic pressure at the main entrance on Truong Son Street.
