After the historic flood swept through the communes of the western Nghe An, many villages fell into complete isolation. The three suspension bridges across the Lam River leading to the Chan, Mac, Lau, and Nhan villages of Tam Quang commune were all swept away by floodwaters, making it difficult to reach and support people.
On July 26, a series of volunteer groups from all over rushed to the flooded areas. One of the earliest groups is the Dai Minh charity group (Van Du commune), with about 20 members, busy preparing essential gifts for the people.
"Some contribute work, some contribute property, whoever has something helps. Today, we plan to wrap hundreds of gifts, along with many necessary necessities such as instant noodles, clean water, clothes... to send to localities facing difficulties," said Ms. To Thi Hieu - Head of the volunteer group.

According to Ms. Hieu, right after the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province launched a call to support people in flooded areas, she immediately called on the community, wishing to contribute her small part to help people overcome disaster.
Preliminary statistics from the People's Committee of Tam Quang commune said: the recent flood caused the whole commune to have 329 households with 1,122 people deeply submerged in water; one house collapsed and was completely swept away. In Thinh Thang village alone, people were forced to evacuate urgently at night. Up to now, households have returned and begun the work to overcome the severe consequences caused by natural disasters. The damage has not been fully counted, but is estimated to be very large.

In Khe Bo village (Tam Quang commune), Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Be choked up as much as she shared: "My family considered it a total loss, with nothing left. Currently, we are lacking clean water and food.
Recorded by the morning of July 26, floodwaters in the communes of the West of Nghe An had begun to recede. Local authorities are coordinating with people to urgently overcome the consequences: clearing houses, repairing corrugated iron roofs, and clearing roads. In addition, Nghe An Women's Union at all levels also implemented many support activities such as collecting fallen trees, rescuing agricultural products, preparing free meals to send to households still being evacuated, in the hope of helping people soon stabilize their lives.
