On November 25th, the Hanoi Department of Construction issued document No. 1358/TB-SXD, diverting traffic to serve the construction of 600m of Nguyen Canh Di road extending from Song Lu bridge to Dinh Cong bridge, from November 25th to April 30th, 2026.
This is a road belonging to the technical infrastructure project of the expanded Bac Dai Kim New Urban Area, invested by Hanoi Housing and Urban Development Business Joint Stock Company (HANHUD).
This is the second time in two years that functional agencies have conducted traffic diversion to serve the construction of the "painful road" Nguyen Canh Di.

According to records, after 1 month from the time of traffic diversion, the "potholes" on the right side of the route from Dinh Cong bridge to bridge 36 have been leveled, helping people travel more conveniently.
On the left side of the route, the contractor is constructing a drainage system. However, the deployment of this item is not synchronized because a part of the land area has not been handed over.
Regarding site clearance (GPMB), on October 5, 2025, Dinh Cong ward confirmed the current land use status map to prepare a detailed planning adjustment dossier at a scale of 1/500.
Until November 8, the ward issued a decision to establish the Land Clearance Council, which was assessed as too slow compared to the travel needs of the people and the ability to synchronously connect the southern roads including the Kim Dong - Giai Phong traffic junction underpass and Ring Road 2.5 section Dam Hong - National Highway 1A.
It is known that the area to be cleared has a length of 218m, involving 34 households. Preliminary statistics show that 14 households have received compensation for site clearance, and 20 households have not handed over the land, of which 16 households have compensation plans but have not received money, and 4 households have not developed plans.

Local people believe that if site clearance work is not accelerated, the situation of patching up road surfaces like two years ago will likely recur, because the underground infrastructure system cannot be deployed yet.
If not thoroughly handled, just temporarily patching the road surface as in previous times, the construction will be quickly damaged due to the lack of drainage systems" - Mr. Nguyen Thanh (Dinh Cong ward, Hanoi) said.
Previously, on July 7, 2025, the Office of the Hanoi People's Committee issued document No. 10357/VP-DT, conveying the opinion of Standing Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Duong Duc Tuan, requesting to remove difficulties and accelerate the project progress.
The document clearly stipulates the responsibilities of departments, branches, local authorities and investors. Following that, on November 6, 2025, Hanoi Housing and Urban Development Business Joint Stock Company issued document No. 365/CV-HANHUD/2025, expressing its determination to deploy the extended Nguyen Canh Di road.
Representatives of HANHUD said that the unit has prepared funds for compensation work, ready to pay when there is a list from the locality.
Currently, HANHUD has only stopped at the stage of preparing the ground and constructing sparingly. This shows that, although only 600m with a cost of about 10 billion VND, if there is no close coordination between the Dinh Cong ward government and the investor, the completion milestone of April 30, 2026 is difficult to achieve.

While many large transportation projects in the South of the city, including Ring Road 2.5 and Kim Dong - Giai Phong underpass projects, are "cold" to the finish line, 600m of Nguyen Canh Di road is still under construction and waiting for site clearance.
Many people requested the local government to accelerate the site clearance progress so that the road can be completed, helping to reduce congestion and contribute to the urban embellishment of Dinh Cong ward in particular and the southern area of the city in general.
It's a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit.
