The Tran Hung Dao bridge project is one of 7 bridges across the Red River that Hanoi will start construction in 2025.
The project was built with the goal of promoting the urbanization process of the area, creating a premise for the implementation of the policy of population dispersion and reducing traffic pressure in the central urban area, connecting the main roads along the two banks of the Red River, developing modern urban space...
Tran Hung Dao Bridge is invested under the public-private partnership (PPP) method, with a total investment of VND 16,226 billion. In the financial structure, Hanoi pays investors with land funds, worth about VND 8,190 billion. The rest is invested from the city budget.
The project is 4.18 km long (of which the main bridge across the river is 870 m long), starting at the Tran Hung Dao - Tran Thanh Tong - Le Thanh Tong intersection, in Cua Nam ward, Hai Ba Trung; the end point connects with Nguyen Son street, in Long Bien and Bo De wards.
The entire route has three intersections, including a different-level intersection with Tran Khanh Du - Nguyen Khoi road; intersecting with Ta Hong dyke road - Co Linh road; and intersecting with Nguyen Son road.
Among the project wards, Hong Ha ward is the locality with the largest number of households having their land recovered and cleared (GPMB), with more than 300 cases.

Chairman of Hong Ha Ward People's Committee Le Hong Thang said that the Tran Hung Dao bridge project will be implemented in the period from 2025 - 2027. Based on that time frame, the Ward People's Committee has planned to implement land acquisition and site clearance, expected to be implemented within 6 - 9 months.
According to the plan, before February 15, 2026, the ward will complete the investigation, confirm the origin of land, population, household registration and publicize the resettlement plan, the public disclosure period is 10 days. After this time, the Ward People's Committee will continue to organize a dialogue with the people to further resolve the problems.
Regarding resettlement, the leader of Hong Ha Ward People's Committee said that the city has arranged more than 200 hectares of land in Thu Lam commune for people affected by the construction of Tu Lien Bridge, Ngoc Hoi Bridge and Tran Hung Dao Bridge.
Currently, 7 plots of land have basically completed site clearance, some locations have completed infrastructure, ready to hand over to projects.
The ward has also informed people about the conditions of technical infrastructure, transportation, utilities... in these resettlement areas.

Regarding compensation and support prices, according to regulations, they will be implemented according to the principle of conversion rate of 1:1, with land prices applying the 2026 land price list issued by the Hanoi People's Council. For some key projects, a coefficient of 2 times the compensation level is applied.
Hong Ha Ward is petitioning specialized departments to advise the Hanoi People's Committee to issue specific unit prices. The government has made recommendations and hopes that households will be compensated double.
In particular, a new point in the site clearance work at the Tran Hung Dao bridge project is that in cases that are eligible for construction, when people receive the site handover money, the Ward People's Committee will hand over the decision plan with the construction permit.
In cases that are eligible for a red book, or have a red book and it is cut, the Ward People's Committee will adjust the red book and return it to the people, without requiring declaration of procedures.
In order for the project to be implemented on schedule, the People's Committee of Hong Ha Ward hopes to receive consensus and support from households. Governments at all levels are committed to fully and promptly implementing regimes and policies, ensuring the legitimate and legal rights and interests of the people at the best level as prescribed.
