According to information from Ngoc Chien Commune People's Committee, by the afternoon of July 19, provincial road 109 (DT. 109) connecting Muong La - Ngoc Chien had been fully opened to traffic after many landslide points occurred due to prolonged heavy rain from the night of July 16 to July 18.
Previously, about 15km of provincial road 109 was damaged with 32 landslide points, causing many villages along the route to be cut off, and traffic to be difficult. Soil and rocks from the positive taluy overflowed onto the road surface, along with landslides in many locations, causing localized congestion.
Currently, the road management unit continues to deploy step 2 traffic assurance work, focusing on handling landslide soil and rocks, mud and soil and locations at risk of further landslides, in order to ensure safety for people and vehicles traveling.
The opening of the entire DT. 109 route helps restore traffic connection to the villages in Ngoc Chien commune.
However, because many locations still have potential landslide risks, people and vehicles when traveling through the route need to pay attention to observation and comply with the instructions of functional forces.
