On September 14, the Department of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion (Ministry of Industry and Trade) organized the program "Students with knowledge of safe, economical and efficient energy use" at Linh Nam Primary School, Linh Nam ward, Hanoi.
The program has the participation of nearly 1,000 students, within the framework of the National Program on Energy Saving and Efficiency Use for the period 2019-2030.
According to the plan, this propaganda activity is expected to be implemented in 5 primary and secondary schools in Hanoi.
Instead of just imparting theoretical knowledge, students participate in interactive games and questions, practice and experience models and energy-saving devices. The content focuses on how to recognize behaviors that cause electricity waste in daily life, use electrical appliances properly and prevent unsafe risks.
Mr. Duong Van Hoa - Vice Chairman of Linh Nam Ward People's Committee - said that forming the habit of energy saving can start from things that are very close to students.
Energy saving sometimes starts from very small things: turning off lights, turning off fans when leaving the room; using air conditioning reasonably; not wasting water; using electrical appliances properly and knowing how to prevent risks of electrical unsafety," Mr. Hoa said.
According to Mr. Hoa, if formed early, these habits can follow the children in the process of maturity.
At the program, students also interacted with officials and experts in the field of energy, participated in quizzes and learned how to use energy-saving devices. The content is designed to suit their age, combining knowledge reception and practical experience.
Through this activity, the Ministry of Industry and Trade aims to help students form the habit of using energy safely and economically right from school. Students are also encouraged to share learned knowledge with their families, such as turning off electrical appliances when not in use, using air conditioners reasonably or limiting water waste.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, communication activities on economical and efficient energy use will continue to be coordinated and implemented in localities and schools in the coming time.
