Accelerating construction of the "sprint" phase
According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, these days at the Long Thanh airport project site in Binh Son commune, Long Thanh district, Dong Nai province, despite the peak of the hot and dry weather in the South, thousands of officers and workers are still speeding up the construction of the "sprint" phase.
On March 24, information from Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) - the investor of the Long Thanh airport component project 3 phase 1 - said that ACV and contractors have coordinated to review and agree on solutions to increase people, increase machinery, increase materials, and subcontractors to shorten progress.
Up to now, at the construction site, construction units have mobilized hundreds of construction teams with nearly 10,000 experts, engineers, workers, laborers and nearly 3,000 construction equipment to speed up the construction progress with the goal of basically completing the construction part before December 31, 2025 to celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Party; 80th Anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; 50th Anniversary of the Day of the complete Liberation of the South and National Reunification.
Progress of the main packages, for package 4.6 - Runway works, taxiways, aircraft parking lots... started in August 2023 and according to the contract schedule to be completed in July 2025.
However, the progress has been adjusted to complete and technically exploit the runway and taxiway before April 30, 2025 and is installing equipment and materials for the ILS/DME accuracy landing support system.
For package 5.10 - The passenger terminal project is considered the heart of the Long Thanh airport project, the general progress of the entire project, the contractor is the Vietur consortium. The project started in July 2023, with completion scheduled for November 31, 2026 (39 months). However, the adjusted progress is to basically complete the construction before December 31, 2025.
Currently, this package has completed the construction of the underground reinforced concrete structure, floors 1, 2, 3, 4.
Contractors are constructing such as: completing the paving, installing the steel bridge connection, constructing the glass wall, constructing the water supply system, air conditioning, electrical system construction, fire prevention and fighting. The installation of the terminal equipment system is also under construction: passenger pipeline bridge, luggage handling area, aircraft parking lot...
Basically complete all construction of Long Thanh airport before December 31, 2025
Package 6.12 - the traffic project connecting route 1 and route 2 is expected to technically open to traffic on route 1 on April 30, 2025, complete route 2 in July 2025, complete the intersections, accept all, and put into use on September 2, 2025 (3 months ahead of schedule).
Other packages include: Package 4.7 - Aircraft parking lot project and other works; Package 4.8 - Inner Port Transport Project and Airport Infrastructure; Package 4.9 - Aircraft fuel supply system; Package 11.5 - Garage is also being accelerated by ACV.
According to ACV, all packages of component project 3 - Long Thanh airport phase 1 are in the process of implementation. ACV and contractors strive to focus all resources to basically complete the entire construction before December 31, 2025.
Mr. Duong Quang Dien - Permanent Deputy Director of the Long Thanh Airport Project Management Board - said: "In 2025, we are determined to basically complete the construction work of the Long Thanh Airport Project Phase 1".
