On November 22, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Khanh Hoa province said that the unit had reported on the flood situation in recent days.
Mr. Nguyen Duy Quang - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment - said that because many areas were deeply flooded, isolated, had power outages, and had lost contact, the work of reviewing and counting damage to houses, properties, works, and production of the people was not complete.
Currently, the locality is continuing to inspect and update the damage in the coming time. In the past 24 hours (from 7:00 p.m. on November 19 to 7:00 p.m. on November 20), Khanh Hoa province continued to have moderate to heavy rain, with some places having very heavy rain.
Rainfall in the northern part of the province is generally 100300mm; some places recorded sudden heights such as: Dai Lanh 518mm, Hoa Son Lake - Suong 999mm.
It is forecasted that in the next 2448 hours, Khanh Hoa will still maintain moderate to heavy rain; in the North of the province, there will be very heavy rain with thunderstorms. The total expected rainfall in the Northern region is generally 100200mm, some places exceeding 300mm; the Southern province 70120mm, some places over 150mm.
The impact of the flood caused the whole province to record 196 flooded spots in 54 communes and wards, with nearly 15,000 households affected. On traffic routes, 126 points on national and provincial highways were eroded, causing local isolation.
Damage to agricultural production is also very severe: About 12,200 hectares of crops were flooded; 17 communes and wards had livestock and poultry swept away by floodwaters; nearly 80 hectares of seafood and 1 high-tech shrimp farming area were damaged; 146 hectares of salt fields were affected.
The total damage to the people is currently estimated at thousands of billions of VND. The damage to infrastructure works alone is about 335 billion VND.
