Cai Phan Rang River landslide for 5km, Khanh Hoa urgently evacuates 20 households

Khanh Hoa - Consecutive rains and floods caused serious landslides along the Cai Phan Rang river bank, passing through Phu Nhuan village (My Son commune) on National Highway 27.

On November 22, the Khanh Hoa provincial government issued a warning line in the area of serious landslides along the Cai Phan Rang riverbank through Phu Nhuan village (My Son commune, the old Ninh Thuan province) along National Highway 27.

According to the report of the local government, many days of heavy rain caused the Cai Phan Rang river bank to erode the frog's jaw, stretching about 5km.

Of which, the most severe landslide section is up to 500m wide and only about 35m from National Highway 27, posing a potential threat to the main traffic route connecting Khanh Hoa - Lam Dong.

As soon as the risk of insecurity was detected, the People's Committee of My Son commune mobilized the urgent evacuation of 20 households living in the affected area to ensure safety.

Yesterday, when inspecting the scene, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Huyen requested My Son commune to continue to closely monitor the landslide developments, proactively respond to high-risk locations; absolutely ensure the safety of people's lives and property.

In the immediate future, the province will consider allocating funds to handle about 500m of the most severely eroded riverbank to prevent the flow from continuing to encroach further towards National Highway 27 and residential areas, avoiding the risk of more serious impacts in the coming time.
