According to the bulletin issued at 4:30 p.m. on November 21 by the Khanh Hoa Hydrometeorological Station, in the past 24 hours, the province continued to experience heavy to very heavy rain, with some places experiencing particularly heavy rain.
Prolonged heavy rain has caused many communes and wards in the area to be deeply flooded, posing a high risk of flash floods, landslides and making people unsafe.
In Dien Dien and Dien Khanh communes, the water is gradually decreasing and is expected to recede completely in the afternoon and night of November 21.
In particular, in the areas of Nha Trang, Tay Nha Trang, Bac Nha Trang, Nam Nha Trang wards and the areas of My Son, Phuoc Hau, Ninh Phuoc, Do Vinh, Bao An, Phan Rang, Phuoc Dinh, Dong Hai... the flooding situation may last until the end of the night of November 21 and early morning of November 22.
The maximum flooding depth was recorded at 0.2 - 1m. In low-lying areas, it is possible to be flooded more than 1.5m, making it difficult to travel and organize rescue.
According to the meteorological agency, the soil moisture model shows that many areas in Khanh Hoa have reached a saturatation level of over 80%.
In the next 6 hours, rainfall is forecast to be generally 20 - 50mm, some places may exceed 60mm.
The specialized agency warns of a very high risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams in mountainous areas; landslides on steep slopes and subsidence in many communes.
These phenomena can cause great damage to the environment, threaten people's safety, disrupt local traffic and destroy civil and economic works, seriously affecting production and life.
