On the afternoon of August 18, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Dang Huu Vi - Deputy Director of the Southern Expressway Project Management Board (SEPMU), under Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) said: The Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway Project is being accelerated in construction progress to strive to open the entire route to traffic and put it into operation in September 2026.
Currently, the construction output of construction packages of the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway project has reached about 99% of the contract value. Nearly 55km of the total length of the route (nearly 58km) has been completed. Of which, nearly 30km has been put into temporary operation, about 25km has been completed but has not been put into operation due to waiting for traffic connection.

The entire project currently has 2 packages under construction including: package J3-1 (Phuoc Khanh bridge) and package XL-NG51 (National Highway 51 intersection) which are completing the final items.
In which, package J3-1, the main bridge part has been completed and joined, currently the contractor is constructing railings, fire prevention and fighting systems, drainage. The approach bridge part is being constructed with asphalt concrete, lighting system and related items. This package is expected to be completed in August 2026.
At package XL-NG51, the contractor has basically completed the overpass of National Highway 51 and branch bridge N1. The remaining items include asphalt concrete bridge deck, crushed stone base, asphalt concrete and completion of the traffic system. The package is also expected to be completed in August 2026.

The Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway passes through 3 provinces and cities including: Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City and Tay Ninh. In which, the section through Dong Nai city is nearly 29km long.
The Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway is an expressway that plays an important role in connecting inter-regional traffic in the Southeast region and inter-regional Southeast region with the Southwest region. In particular, when put into synchronous operation, the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway will also form an additional connecting route with Long Thanh airport, reducing traffic pressure for the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway.
