On October 19, the Dak Doa Forest Protection Department said that the unit had received a large crossbeat handed over by Mr. Hoang Quy Duong (born in 1975, residing in Hoi Phu ward) and the police force.
At around 3:00 a.m. on October 18, while driving a car on National Highway 14, through Ham Rong village (Hoi Phu ward, Gia Lai province), Mr. Duong suddenly saw a large python lying in the middle of the road.
Fearing that another vehicle was passing, he stopped the vehicle, used a support tool to arrest the crossbar and brought it home, then contacted the ward police and the local forest rangers to hand it over according to regulations.
On the same afternoon, the Hoi Phu Ward Police force in coordination with the Dak Doa Forest Protection Department received the above-mentioned concerts.
Forest rangers determined that the pangolin was alive, healthy, weighed about 10 kg, and was a wild animal protected by law.
A representative of Hoi Phu Ward Police said that Mr. Duong's actions demonstrated a high sense of responsibility in protecting wildlife and complying with legal regulations on forest management, protection and biodiversity.
Currently, the elephant has been temporarily cared for by the Dak Doa Forest Protection Department before being handed over to the wildlife rescue center.
