Family requests injury assessment
On June 1st, Lao Dong Newspaper reported on the case of an 8th grade male student in Lao Cai ward being chased and assaulted by a group of students from other schools.
In a clip spread on social networks, a male student was chased and beaten until he fell off his motorbike, then continued to be punched and kicked, and used a helmet to attack his head and body.
On June 2, Ms. Le Thi Lam, D.P. A's mother, said that she had sent a denunciation to functional agencies, requesting investigation, clarification and handling of related people according to the provisions of law.
The family said that the incident caused A to be hospitalized for treatment at Lao Cai Provincial General Hospital, with a diagnosis of traumatic brain injury and many other injuries.
After the incident, the male student showed signs of panic, affecting his health and psychology.
From the above developments, Ms. Le Thi Lam requested the police agency to conduct injury assessment for D.P. A; investigate and clarify the case and handle the injured according to legal regulations.
The family also requested consideration of acts showing signs of intentional injury and disturbing public order.
In case there is sufficient basis, Ms. Lam wishes the investigating agency to prosecute the case and prosecute the defendant according to regulations. If there is not enough basis for criminal handling, it is proposed to apply appropriate administrative handling measures.
The family also expressed their opinion, hoping that functional agencies will have a document requesting Kim Tan Secondary School to consider responsibility, have appropriate educational and handling measures for the related students to avoid affecting other students.
According to Ms. Lam, the family has filed a report to the Lao Cai Ward Police since May 27.
However, at the time of filing the complaint, the parents said they had not yet received a notice to resolve the case or carry out health assessment procedures for the victim.
Clarify the responsibilities of relevant parties
Mr. Nguyen Van Nhat - Chairman of Lao Cai Ward People's Committee confirmed that the locality is coordinating to verify the incident.
According to Mr. Nhat, on the evening of May 27, in the Nhac Son street area, Lao Cai ward, a group of students including D. D. M, P.M. Q and Q.A.P drove an electric vehicle to chase after D.P. A, an 8th grade student of Hoang Hoa Tham Secondary School.

After that, student D. D. M used a helmet to physically impact D.P. A.
Immediately upon receiving the information, the Lao Cai Ward People's Committee directed the Ward Police, Kim Tan Secondary School, Hoang Hoa Tham Secondary School and related departments to coordinate with the student's family to urgently verify and clarify the incident.
A's family also proactively took her to Lao Cai Provincial General Hospital for health check-ups.
In addition to the process of verifying the case, the Ward People's Committee directed the two schools to organize visits and encourage students; thoroughly understand the civilized behavior with teachers and friends; strengthen the implementation of solutions to prevent school violence and improve the effectiveness of coordination between families, schools and society in student education.
