On November 13, informing the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Le Van Thanh (father of the female student who was beaten by a group of people) expressed his indignation. Mr. Thanh said that it has been nearly 40 days since the incident in which his daughter was beaten, but the authorities have yet to come to a conclusion and handle the case.
“My daughter was beaten and suffered a broken cervical vertebrae. She had to be treated in many different hospitals. Up to now, her neck is still in a cast and she cannot walk. She is also at risk of having to repeat school next year. I thought the matter would be resolved quickly, because there were many videos showing my daughter being brutally beaten, but until now, there have been no results" - Mr. Thanh was indignant.
Speaking with Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Trinh Huu Thanh - Head of Nong Cong District Police, Thanh Hoa Province said that the case is still being verified and investigated and has no results yet.
Previously, according to verification from Nong Cong 2 High School (in Nong Cong district, Thanh Hoa province), on October 4, a female student of class 10A6, while returning from school, saw a female student of class 10A5 walking behind her talking and joking with another friend. The female student of class 10A6 thought that her friend was talking badly about her, leading to an argument. On the afternoon of October 5, when school was out, the two female students continued to argue and quarrel. Afterwards, the school security broke up the fight and all the students went home. However, when they reached Tan Phuc commune, a fight broke out.
As a result, an 11th grade female student (when she intervened to stop a group of friends from fighting) was beaten up and seriously injured, and had to be transferred to Viet Duc Hospital for treatment.
After a period of treatment at Viet Duc Hospital, the female student was transferred to Hop Luc General Hospital (in Thanh Hoa) for further monitoring and treatment. After a period of treatment, the female student was taken home by her family for further monitoring and physical therapy. Currently, the female student's health has not yet recovered enough to return to school.
