On November 11, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Le Van Thanh (in Nong Cong district, Thanh Hoa province) said that after more than 1 month of the incident in which his daughter was beaten by a group of friends, her health has improved a little, but is still quite weak.
“After returning home from Hop Luc General Hospital, my family took him to physical therapy in Thuong Xuan district for nearly 10 days, and on November 2, we let him go home. Currently, he still has to have his neck immobilized and cannot walk on his own. In particular, he still vomits a lot when eating and drinking,” said Mr. Thanh.
According to Mr. Thanh, since the day his daughter was beaten and hospitalized, he and his wife have not been able to focus on work and have had to run around everywhere to take care of their daughter. Up to now, his wife has had to quit her job to stay home and take care of their daughter.
“As a parent, seeing my child in pain is heartbreaking. For more than a month after the incident, my child had to have a stiff neck and could not walk. My child’s studies have been greatly affected and he is facing the risk of having to repeat the course next year,” Mr. Thanh lamented.
Mr. Thanh hopes that the relevant authorities and police will promptly clarify the incident and take strict measures against the group of female students who participated in the beating of his daughter.
Discussing the above incident, Mr. Trinh Huu Thanh - Head of Nong Cong District Police, Thanh Hoa Province said that the case is still being verified and investigated by the unit and there are no results yet.
Mr. Dang Van Hung - Principal of Nong Cong 2 High School (Nong Cong District, Thanh Hoa Province) said that up to now, the school is still waiting for the conclusion from the police agency, then holding a meeting and deciding on the next measures to handle the students involved in the incident.
Previously, according to verification from Nong Cong 2 High School (in Nong Cong district, Thanh Hoa province), on October 4, a female student of class 10A6, while returning from school, saw a female student of class 10A5 walking behind her talking and joking with another friend. The female student of class 10A6 thought that her friend was talking badly about her, leading to an argument. On the afternoon of October 5, when school was out, the two female students continued to argue and quarrel. Afterwards, the school security broke up the fight and all the students went home. However, when they reached Tan Phuc commune, a fight broke out.
As a result, an 11th grade female student (when she intervened to stop a group of friends from fighting) was beaten up and seriously injured, and had to be transferred to Viet Duc Hospital for treatment.
After a period of treatment at Viet Duc Hospital, the female student was transferred to Hop Luc General Hospital (in Thanh Hoa) for further monitoring and treatment. After a period of treatment, the female student was taken home by her family for further monitoring and physical therapy. Currently, the female student's health has not yet recovered enough to return to school.
