Gia Lai - The Department of Education and Training temporarily suspends the recruitment of 4,808 public employees in the Education sector in 2025 to review and balance staff according to the assigned targets for 2026.

On July 7, Mr. Pham Van Nam - Director of Gia Lai Department of Education and Training - said that the Department has announced the temporary suspension of recruitment of public employees in the Education sector in 2025.

According to Mr. Nam, on June 23, Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee decided to assign staff to agencies and non-business units in 2026. Accordingly, the total number of civil servants receiving salaries from the state budget of the province is 47,909 targets, of which the Education sector is expected to cut 10% of the staff, equivalent to 4,406 targets.

Therefore, the plan to recruit 4,808 public employees of the Education sector cannot be implemented yet.

The temporary suspension of recruitment is to ensure that the management and use of staff are consistent with the number of staff assigned by competent authorities in 2026, and at the same time create conditions to review and adjust the number of staff compared to 2025.

According to the notice, the temporary suspension of recruitment takes effect from the date of promulgation until the balance of redundant staff according to the assigned targets for 2026 is completed and competent authorities supplement staff for the Education sector.

Previously, Gia Lai Department of Education and Training issued a plan to recruit 4,808 public employees at public preschool and general education institutions, including 3,620 teacher quotas and 468 staff quotas. Of this total, there are 3,908 general recruitment quotas and 180 quotas for ethnic minorities.
