Hanoi City Police said on May 18 that at around 7:17 p.m. on May 17, hotline 114 - City Police Command Information Center received a report from the people about: due to heavy rain, slippery roads, limited visibility, a group of climbers were stuck on Ham Lon mountain, Nam Son commune, Soc Son district.
The City Police Command Information Center has mobilized officers and soldiers from the Soc Son Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Area Group (PCCC and CNCH), the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department to quickly arrived at the scene to search and rescue.
With a high sense of responsibility, overcoming difficulties in rainy and windy weather conditions, slippery terrain, high slopes and the coordination and support of local people, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force quickly approached, encouraged and reassured the group of people trapped.
At 22:50 on the same day, the authorities used specialized equipment to successfully get 5 people down the mountain safely in normal health and alertness.
The city police recommend that people when participating in mountain climbing and picnicking activities in mountainous areas should closely monitor weather conditions; prepare adequate equipment and communication equipment.
