Concentrating construction forces on Ring Road 1
The Ring Road 1 project, Hoang Cau - Voi Phuc section, is under peak construction, striving to open to traffic before September 2nd and complete it in 2026.
According to Lao Dong's records, currently, the construction atmosphere at the construction site is urgent with hundreds of workers and machinery working continuously day and night.
In which, many items under the project are being implemented simultaneously, from roadbed construction, road surface, overpasses to completing technical infrastructure and landscape systems.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Le Ba Luong - Deputy Construction Site Commander of Ring Road 1 package, said that to meet the goal of traffic opening on schedule, the unit has mobilized maximum manpower and equipment, organized construction day and night, including weekends, holidays or in unfavorable weather conditions.
According to Mr. Luong, arranging night shifts is a mandatory requirement because most supplies, construction materials as well as waste soil transportation activities are only allowed to be carried out at night to limit the impact on urban traffic.
Currently, construction teams are focusing on completing many items such as installing curbs, paving sidewalks, planting trees on the median strip, and preparing C16 asphalt concrete paving in the area near the Voi Phuc intersection.
On the De La Thanh route, excavation and installation of the sewer system are also being implemented with a length of about 500m, calculated from Thanh Cong street area towards Nguyen Chi Thanh street.
According to a representative of the construction unit, the contractor is continuing to carry out procedures to apply for a traffic diversion permit for the section from Thanh Cong to Giang Vo intersection to serve the construction of the next items. Meanwhile, the left section from Nguyen Chi Thanh street to Nguyen Phuc Lai street has basically completed the asphalt concrete paving work.
Along with the road section, two overpasses on Ring Road 1 are also being focused on by units to accelerate progress.
At the Lang Ha - Giang Vo overpass area, Mr. Tieu Van Huy - Commander of this project said that engineers and workers are deploying the casting of the middle span girder. Up to now, abutments M0, M7 and piers T1 to T6 have been completed.
In the coming time, the unit will continue to construct the road sections at the beginning of the bridge, cast beams on scaffolding and bridge piers, and move towards completing the remaining items of the bridge structure. Up to now, the construction progress of this overpass has reached about 45%.
Hanoi removes obstacles, determined to reach the finish line on schedule
According to the Hanoi People's Committee, the project has now completed over 40% of the total construction volume. To ensure the goal of opening the entire route to traffic before National Day September 2nd and completing the entire project in 2026, the city is focusing on directing relevant units to remove existing difficulties and obstacles.
In which, the Department of Construction is assigned to coordinate with the Department of Finance to review and advise on handling plans for two fixed unit price contracts belonging to the overpass construction packages at Giang Vo - Lang Ha and Nguyen Chi Thanh intersections based on the provisions of law and special mechanisms according to the Capital Law 2026.
For the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the city requests to study a plan to arrange "priority lanes" or "private lanes" for vehicles transporting construction waste from key projects.
The City Civil Works Construction Investment Project Management Board is required to strengthen coordination with departments, branches and related units to promptly handle bottlenecks in technology, procedures and construction organization.
When put into operation, Ring Road 1 section Hoang Cau - Voi Phuc is expected to contribute to completing the central ring road traffic axis, reducing pressure on many inner-city roads and increasing connectivity between areas of the Capital.
