The work of selecting and calling citizens to enlist in 2026 in the Capital is being implemented seriously, publicly, and in accordance with legal regulations. The city has issued decisions calling over 4,000 citizens to enlist, ensuring sufficient targets and improving the quality of new soldiers.
According to the Hanoi City Military Service Council, districts, towns, and cities have completed reviewing and re-examining more than 326,000 citizens of enlistment age. Registration and source management are carried out strictly and in accordance with procedures, ensuring a firm grasp of the quantity and quality of young people of enlistment age.
Based on population management data and re-inspection results, localities have specifically classified each subject, creating an important foundation for the next selection steps. The results show that the proportion of citizens eligible for temporary suspension and exemption from military service accounts for 44.3% (due to study, labor, family circumstances); the proportion of citizens eligible for preliminary health screening reached 44.2%, reflecting a relatively stable quality of youth sources.
Notably, through the organization of military service health check-ups, the whole city has more than 9,000 citizens eligible for military service. This is an important basis for Hanoi to select and call citizens to enlist, both ensuring sufficient targets and improving the quality of new soldiers.
A highlight in this year's military recruitment season is the rate of citizens volunteering for military service reaching over 65%. Among them, many young people studying at universities and colleges voluntarily preserved their academic results to set off to perform their duties to the Fatherland.
Lieutenant Colonel Dao Ngoc Tuan - Commander of the Military Command of Dai Mo Ward said that the locality has done a good job of national defense and security education; propaganda and mobilization of citizens to volunteer for military service have been seriously and effectively implemented, ensuring publicity, democracy, and compliance with the law. Up to now, Dai Mo Ward has 25 young people ready to enlist and 5 young people participating in the People's Police service, all meeting all standards of political qualities, cultural level and health.
According to the Hanoi Capital High Command, to achieve the above results, right from the beginning of the year, the city has consolidated the military service councils at all levels, assigned specific tasks to each member; promoted the core role of military and police agencies in advising and organizing implementation.
Propaganda work has been promoted with many rich forms such as grassroots broadcasting systems, mass organization activities, residential groups, schools; integrating traditional education, disseminating laws on military service. Thereby helping youth and families understand their rights and obligations, creating social consensus.
Along with that, the preliminary selection and health examination work is organized seriously, objectively, and publicly. Localities closely coordinate with the health sector, prepare sufficient facilities, equipment and a team of specialized doctors and physicians, ensuring accurate assessment of citizens' health status, minimizing errors and negativity.
Based on the selection results, the city has issued a decision to call up over 4,000 citizens to enlist in 2026. Among the winning citizens, there are 18 party members; many outstanding masses are being monitored and trained to consider admission before leaving or during training at the unit, contributing to improving the political quality of the armed forces.
The list of conscriptions is publicly posted at the headquarters of the People's Committees of communes, wards, and towns, creating conditions for people to supervise.
In parallel with military recruitment, Hanoi City focuses on implementing good military rear policies; organizing visits and encouragement to families of young people enlisting, promptly supporting those in difficult circumstances; creating a vibrant and excited atmosphere before the enlistment day.
With proactive, close and synchronous preparation from the city to the grassroots level, the work of selecting and calling citizens to enlist in 2026 of Hanoi is taking place according to plan, ensuring quality, publicity, democracy, and compliance with the law; continuing to affirm the spirit of responsibility and voluntary spirit of Hanoi youth in the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland.
