According to the Department of Construction and implementation of the direction of the Hanoi People's Committee, on May 26, this unit coordinated with the Center for Urban Traffic Management and Administration, Hanoi Railway One Member Limited Company (HMC) to check the scene, review and propose a plan to handle the damage of the station roof, the roller roof on the route.
At Yen Nghia station, the roof of the station was blown off and damaged by the impact of storm Yagi. HMC Company has inspected, counted the damage and developed an emergency repair plan to submit to competent authorities for approval.
The Department of Construction affirmed that the delay in repairing infrastructure damage caused by natural disasters has affected passengers and train operations. The main reason is that HMC Company has not actively coordinated with relevant units and is slow to report and propose solutions in a timely manner.
For items that require large funding and must be submitted to competent authorities for approval, HMC Company is currently coordinating with competent authorities to implement them as soon as possible.
While waiting for the repair plan to be approved, HMC continues to implement measures to ensure hygiene and safety for passengers at Yen Nghia station, especially in heavy rain conditions such as in recent days. The company has increased safety staff at the gate, issued warning information and instructed passengers, and requested the cleaning unit to dry the floor surface to minimize the risk of slippery.
Previously, on May 19, carriage No. 02 of the HN001 train appeared to flow water in the carriage. Immediately after the incident, the operating unit inspected and determined the cause of the air conditioning system's wind gate being blocked, due to a control system error.
HMC Company has invited experts to assess, find the cause and develop a solution. At the same time, the entire air conditioning system of the HN001 train is also being maintained.
In order to ensure the safety and quality of public passenger transport services, the Department of Construction proposes the Hanoi People's Committee to approve the policy of allowing HMC to repair emergency repair of Yen Nghia station, an escalator roof and broken and cracked glass panels at some stations on the Cat Linh - Ha Dong route. The repair should be completed before 6.6.2025.
The Department also requested HMC Company to regularly maintain the entire train and urban railway infrastructure in accordance with the procedures to ensure safe operation and avoid incidents affecting passengers.
