On December 19, 5 terminals including Lao Cai, Phu Tho, Bac Hong, Luong Tai and Hai Duong Nam will simultaneously start construction, under Component Project 1, invested by the Ministry of Construction, with a total investment of nearly 2,300 billion VND. Hai Duong Nam Station is located in Gia Loc and Yet Kieu communes, conveniently connecting with key traffic routes, expected to serve both passengers and freight transport.
On the morning of December 17, the atmosphere at Hai Duong Nam station was bustling and urgent, workers, engineers and local staff worked hard to complete the final items to prepare for the groundbreaking ceremony on December 19.
Construction machinery to level the ground, unload materials, and check equipment are mobilized simultaneously. All plans for site organization and construction safety are carefully reviewed, ensuring progress and compliance with standards.

Hai Duong Nam Station is one of the first 5 stations of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong Railway Project, a national key transport infrastructure project, with a total investment of about 203,000 billion VND and a route length of 390 km. This railway line plays an important role in connecting the East-West economic corridor, connecting the Northwest with the Red River Delta and the Northern seaport system.
The project is expected to improve logistics capacity, reduce transportation costs and create momentum for inter-regional economic development. This is also the first railway line to be implemented according to the National Railway Network Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, directly connecting with China and the international transport network.

By early December 2025, Gia Loc commune had completed site clearance and handed over the area as requested by the investor. The locality established working groups to work directly with each household, handling special priority records to hand over land in a timely manner.
Hai Duong Nam Station is located near key industrial parks such as Dai An, Phuc Dien, Tan Truong, an area with a large cargo output but mainly dependent on road transport. The formation of a new station and a high-speed railway line is expected to relieve pressure on National Highway 5 and the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway, while bringing a lower cost transportation option to businesses.
In particular, Hai Duong Nam station also plays a role in transporting goods, quickly connecting with Lach Huyen port and directly connecting with China without having to move to a carrier, helping to reduce transit costs and enhance the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods.
