The Office of Hai Phong City People's Committee has just issued Official Dispatch No. 8147/VP-XDCT conveying the direction of Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Anh Quan on deploying solutions to respond to flooding, ensuring safety for people, works and infrastructure during the 2026 rainy and storm season.
Accordingly, to proactively and promptly respond to flooding and ensure safety in the 2026 rainy and storm season, the Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee directed the Department of Construction and People's Committees of communes, wards, and special zones to organize reviews; have measures to prune and reinforce green trees on roads under management.
Assign city departments, agencies, branches; People's Committees of communes, wards, special zones; investors, contractors and relevant agencies and units to organize reviews of construction projects, in which special attention should be paid to degraded and critical works; have measures to ensure safety in construction and project management and operation.
Regarding the work of overcoming flooding when there is heavy rain, the Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee assigned Hai Phong Drainage One Member Limited Liability Company, Hai Phong Public Works and Construction Joint Stock Company, Hai Phong Public Works and Tourism Services Joint Stock Company, Hai Duong Urban Environment Joint Stock Company to focus resources and proactively implement measures to ensure drainage and minimize serious flooding in the area managed by the unit.
Assign the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to proactively develop scenarios and response plans for widespread and prolonged heavy rain combined with high tides that may occur during the rainy and storm season. Review and arrange warning signs at regulating lakes and canals that may be dangerous to people and vehicles. Regularly urge and inspect Hai Phong Drainage One Member Limited Liability Company, Hai Phong Public Works and Construction Joint Stock Company, Hai Phong Public Works and Tourism Services Joint Stock Company, Hai Duong Urban Environment Joint Stock Company in performing tasks related to urban drainage.
