Recently, the Economic Police Department - Hanoi Police has coordinated with Market Management Team No. 24 - Hanoi Market Management Department and the authorities of La Phu commune, Hoai Duc district (now An Khanh commune, Hanoi) to verify the theft of a large quantity of goods and food of unknown origin, causing environmental pollution and public outrage.
Through the verification process, the authorities determined that the landfill at the beginning of La Phu village was mainly domestic waste and waste from the production and trading of candy in La Phu commune's craft village dumped by local people.
The food dumped at the landfill is cakes, candy, nuts, dried fruits, jelly... which have expired since 2024, including printed goods produced in Vietnam and abroad.
In particular, it was determined that the D.P food processing business household, owned by Mr. N.V.D (born in 67), had dumped food due to defects and damage to the above-mentioned landfill due to the manufacturing facility.
The government of La Phu commune (old) has contracted with URENCO 10 Company to treat industrial waste and common waste to collect, transport, and treat the above waste according to procedures and regulations.
Previously, on June 20, the interdisciplinary working group between Hanoi Police and the Department of Industry and Trade worked at the location where people illegally dumped food and candy as reported by the press (the landfill next to the train route leading to La Phu village); the street selling and trading candy and food... in La Phu commune.




Concluding the meeting, Director of Hanoi Police Nguyen Thanh Tung said that through monitoring production and business activities in La Phu commune, there are still cases of trading in smuggled goods, counterfeit goods, counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, goods of unknown origin... causing public outrage, these violations must be resolved immediately, not allowed to recur.
Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung called on businesses and business households in La Phu commune to strictly comply with the provisions of the law; say no to tax evasion, smuggled goods, counterfeit goods, fake goods, poor quality goods; especially food, food, medicine because it directly affects the rights and health of consumers; at the same time, called on people to voluntarily hand over and destroy goods and food that do not ensure business conditions.

After the working session, the City Police coordinated with the government of the old La Phu commune to announce and encourage organizations and individuals involved in production and business activities to voluntarily hand over goods such as candy, food of all kinds (red cake, sausage, dry food...) that have expired, of unknown origin, smuggled goods at the headquarters of the People's Committee of La Phu commune, the voluntary handover time is from the date of June 22 to July 1, 2025.
As of July 9, 2025, more than 50 individual businesses in La Phu commune (old) have voluntarily handed over goods with a quantity of about 25 tons of candy and food of all kinds (red tea, sausages, dry food, etc.).
Local authorities encourage people to continue to voluntarily hand over goods that are not in accordance with regulations for destruction.
