On June 22, the Hanoi Market Management Department (Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade) informed about the results of market inspection, control and handling of violations in the topic of food safety in Hoai Duc district.
Accordingly, implementing the direction of the Hanoi People's Committee and the Department of Industry and Trade on strengthening food safety control in craft villages during the Mid-Autumn Festival in 2025, the City Market Management Department has deployed a peak period of inspection and handling of violations in La Phu commune and other key areas.
From April 15 to June 15, in Hoai Duc district, the Market Management force coordinated with other authorities to inspect 35 cases and handle 34 violations, with a total fine of more than 1.1 billion VND. The value of the destroyed goods was nearly 500 million VND.
In La Phu commune alone, from 2023 to June 15, 2025, Market Management Team No. 24 (Hanoi Market Management Department) inspected 107 cases, handled 103 cases, transferred 4 cases to the police for investigation, imposed administrative fines with a total amount of 3.3 billion VND and destroyed goods worth about 2 billion VND.
On June 20, Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung - Director of Hanoi City Police led a working group including representatives of the City Police, Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade and Hoai Duc District People's Committee to work and conduct a field inspection in La Phu commune.
The delegation directly surveyed a number of establishments producing and trading traditional consumer goods and candy, typical industries of the locality. The Director of the City Police Department requested the authorities and people to strictly comply with legal regulations on security, order and fire prevention and fighting.
At the meeting, Mr. Vo Nguyen Phong - Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade affirmed that checking and controlling food safety and combating counterfeit goods in craft villages is a key task that needs to be implemented urgently and seriously.
According to Mr. Phong, the Department of Industry and Trade has issued Plan No. 2694/KH-SCT on strengthening control in candy production villages, in which La Phu and Duong Lieu communes in Hoai Duc district are identified as key areas.
The Department of Industry and Trade, as the Standing Agency of the City Steering Committee 389, has also advised the Hanoi People's Committee to issue Decision No. 2664/QD-UBND to establish a Peak Steering Working Group and Plan 146/KH-UBND with the motto "6 clear": Clear people, clear work, clear time, clear responsibilities, clear products, clear authority.
The Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade identifies the consistent guiding viewpoint of prevention as basic, handling as decisive. Propaganda to raise awareness among people and businesses will be carried out at the same time as strict handling of violations, especially in the fields of food, pharmaceuticals and health protection products.
In the coming time, the Department will strengthen inter-sectoral coordination, apply technology to trace the origin, conduct chain checks and promote communication so that people know, identify and denounce acts of production and trading of counterfeit goods and goods that violate food safety. At the same time, assign responsibility to the head and strictly handle irresponsible officials who have committed serious violations, causing public outrage.
