On November 6, in the coastal area of Tan Thanh block, Hoi An Tay ward, Da Nang city, hundreds of officers and soldiers of Regiment 885, Da Nang Military Command urgently reinforced the sections of the coast that were seriously eroded, in order to respond before storm No. 13 made landfall.

Recently, the coastal area of Tan Thanh block has been continuously affected by large waves and high tides due to the impact of storms, making the landslide situation complicated.

In particular, after the previous storm No. 12, the coastline of Tan Thanh block was hit by strong waves, eroding tens of meters inland.
Many sections of the coast are washed deep into the shore by waves, tourist attractions, restaurants along the coast and residential areas inside are under threat, posing a high risk of insecurity for people and tourists.
Recently, officers and soldiers have urgently transported hundreds of sandbags, reinforced them into temporary embankments, raised vulnerable locations, to keep the sea embankment, created temporary shields, limiting the impact of big waves and high tides.

The officers and soldiers have been working day and night, urgently reinforcing, erecting temporary embankments, moving materials, installing sandbags and breakwaters, to limit the spread of landslides, protect residential areas and coastal works.


More than 100 officers and soldiers urgently deployed coastal reinforcement work before storm No. 13 made landfall. For many days, the force has continuously transported sandbags, erected temporary embankments and reinforced vulnerable locations; continued to stay until the area was safe, the coast was protected with surrounding households, restaurants and hotels from the impact of the storm, Major Vo Tan Dinh, Political Commissar of Battalion 72, Regiment 885, Da Nang Military Command informed.
