As Lao Dong reported, at noon on March 21, a protective forest fire occurred in Nghiem mountain area, Hoang Khai commune, Yen Son district (Tuyen Quang). More than 500 people including police, military, militia and local people were mobilized to control the fire.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the forest fire is complicated. By 10:30 p.m. on March 21, over 20 hectares of forest were damaged. Currently, due to the area of burnt forests being bamboo and ruoi forests that have been eroded, thick vegetation and dry weather, it is very difficult to isolate and prevent the fire from spreading.
The provincial police forces, the Provincial Military Command, the Yen Son District Military Command, and militia from neighboring communes have arrived at the scene to support the expansion of the firebreaks, minimizing the spread of the fire.

Informing at the scene, Colonel Do Tien Thuy - Deputy Director of Tuyen Quang Provincial Police said that after receiving information about the fire, the Provincial Police deployed professional forces and on-site to put out the fire. By the afternoon of March 21, the fire had been basically controlled.
"However, due to strong winds, the steep mountain terrain caused coal dust to fall on the lower areas, causing the fire to flare up again. The current plan can only create firebreaks to prevent the fire from spreading," said Colonel Do Tien Thuy.
At the foot of the mountain, necessary necessities such as food, drinking water and equipment are being transported to serve the forces participating in fire fighting.
