Regarding the "dirty meat" incident that shocked public opinion, on June 1, the leader of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Hau Giang province said that the unit is implementing a peak month to fight smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods to ensure food safety for consumers.
According to this leader, there are 18 slaughterhouses in Hau Giang province, of which 2 facilities, N.D and D.N, are processing for CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company (CP Vietnam).

The whistleblower of CP Vietnam posted photos of the incident from 2022. Initial assessment is that this image may have been recorded at D.N facility in Long Thanh commune, Phung Hiep district, Hau Giang province.
" Tomorrow (February 2), the unit will advise the leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Hau Giang province to establish an inspection team to clarify the above information," the leader of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of the province shared.
Previously, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Soc Trang province sent an official dispatch to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Hau Giang province requesting coordination to verify images related to the dispatch of "dirty meat" to the market according to people's reflections.

As Lao Dong reported, on the morning of May 30, a social media account posted an article with the content saying that he used to work at a meat distribution store in My Xuyen district (Soc Trang province). This person accused the store and some leaders of bringing the meat to the market with poor quality.
The poster informed that the above behavior will seriously affect public health and hoped that the authorities would investigate and strictly handle if violations were discovered.
Regarding the incident, on the same day, Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province Tran Van Lau directed the Soc Trang Provincial Police and related agencies to conduct an inspection, and if there were any violations, they would be strictly handled according to the law.
