On the morning of May 30, a social media account posted an article saying that it used to work at a meat distribution store in My Xuyen district (Soc Trang province). This person accused the store and some leaders of bringing the meat to the market with poor quality.

Talking to reporters, Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Mai - Head of C.P Fresh Shop in My Xuyen Center (My Xuyen District), one of the businesses of the C.P system in Soc Trang, confirmed that the person who posted the post with the account "Jonny Lieu" used to work at the store but has retired since 2023.
Ms. Mai said that the images circulating on social networks are photos taken in Hau Giang since 2022, not related to the store in Soc Trang.
According to Ms. Mai, all the pork at the store has a clear origin and full documents and certificates. The meat is imported whole every day and only processed after coming to the store, absolutely not using pre-mixed meat from the outside. The products for sale all have quarantine and food safety certificates.
Mr. Cao Tan Phuoc - in charge of CP's business system in Soc Trang said that after the unverified information spread on social networks, business activities at all 4 stores of the system in the province were significantly affected.
"The confusion makes many customers hesitant when buying products. Meat consumption has decreased by up to 50% compared to before," said Mr. Phuoc.
Mr. Phuoc said that this situation not only affects revenue but also affects the working spirit of employees. To reassure consumers, the system requires staff to proactively communicate and invite customers to check product quality on the spot. The enterprise has also closely coordinated with management agencies such as Market Management, Veterinary... to ensure that the process from livestock farming, slaughter to distribution is always transparent and meets standards.
Regarding the consumption output, Mr. Phuoc said that each store sells about 100kg of meat/day (equivalent to 1-2 pigs). In total, 4 establishments in Soc Trang consume about 10 -15 tons of meat per month, mainly fresh pork and packaged products.
"We are committed to ensuring that the entire process from pork sourcing, slaughter to transportation is strictly controlled, sealed and complied with regulations," Mr. Phuoc affirmed.

Regarding the incident, on the same day, Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province Tran Van Lau directed the Soc Trang Provincial Police and related agencies to conduct an inspection, and if there were any violations, they would be strictly handled according to the law.
In the afternoon of the same day, the interdisciplinary inspection team of Soc Trang province conducted a checkup of C.P Fresh Shop at My Xuyen TT. After the inspection, the delegation recorded the facility to ensure all the conditions of food safety. Pork sold with slaughter control, clinical inspection and no signs of using chemicals or preservatives are harmful to consumers' health.
