On August 15, a representative of the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board said that the unit is urgently completing the final items to put the Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway into operation from August 19.
Started in January 2023, the Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway is 65.5km long, with a total investment of nearly VND9,920 billion, invested by the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board. The route starts from Van Ninh commune (now Truong Ninh commune, Quang Tri province), connecting to Bung - Van Ninh expressway at the National Highway 9B intersection. The end section is in Cam Hieu commune (now Hieu Giang commune, Quang Tri province), connecting to Cam Lo - La Son expressway.
The expressway runs almost parallel to the Ho Chi Minh road and has some intersections, where underpasses are being built to ensure traffic safety.
Currently, the cross-sections have been paved with asphalt, workers are painting the road markings in hot weather of nearly 37 degrees Celsius. The railing system, guardrails, and signs have been completely installed; the iron and steel grids along the route have been completed.
The Van Ninh - Cam Lo Expressway is designed in phase 1 with 4 lanes, maximum speed of 60-90 km/h.
Mr. Van Hai, a worker at the Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway package, said that these days the workers have to work continuously to keep up with the schedule.
Mr. Hai informed that workers are completing the painting of the road markings, installing signs, cleaning and collecting garbage along the route. Everyone tries because they want the road to be completed soon and put into operation according to plan.
Mr. Le Van Son - Chairman of Truong Phu Commune People's Committee said that there are 13.9km of Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway passing through the area.
In the past time, Party committees and authorities have coordinated with the people to create maximum conditions for contractors to construct, ensuring progress and safety, so that the expressway can soon be put into operation, serving the socio-economic development of the area.
