On September 24, Tri An Hydropower Company will increase the discharge flow through the spillway to 406m3/s (at 8 am on the same day), raising the total discharge flow downstream from 866 m3/s to 1,206 m3/s and continuing to increase to 586m3/s (at 12 pm on the same day), raising the total discharge flow downstream from 1,046 m3/s to 1,386 m3/s.
Previously, on September 23, Tri An Hydropower Company discharged water through the spillway for the first time at 146m3/s and then raised it to 276m3/s.
Tri An Hydropower Company can flexibly regulate water flow through the spillway depending on weather developments, water flow to the reservoir, water level of Tri An hydropower reservoir, and water level downstream of the river at Bien Hoa hydrological station.
Hydrological information of Tri An hydropower reservoir as of 6 am on September 24, the upstream water level of the reservoir reached more than 60.8m, water inflow to the reservoir was 1,570m3/s, total discharge to the downstream was 1,058m3/s, and the downstream water level reached 5.5m.
According to Tri An Hydropower Company, the discharge of water through the spillway is to ensure the safety of the project and downstream.
