On September 23, according to representatives of An Khe - Ka Nak Hydropower Company (Gia Lai), before the 2026 rainy and flood season, the Company has coordinated with downstream localities to sign contracts to propagate disaster prevention and control. In which, focus on disseminating information about reservoir operation, regulation, water discharge, warning signals and guiding people to prevent and move people, vehicles, livestock and property to safe places when necessary.
An Khe - Ka Nak Hydropower Plant is the top-level cascade hydropower project of the Ba River basin, playing an important role in power generation, water source regulation and ensuring the safety of the downstream area.
The project started in 2005 and was put into operation in 2011. The two An Khe and Ka Nak plants have a total capacity of 173 MW, the two reservoirs have a total capacity of more than 329 million m3, annually supplying about 575 million kWh to the national power system, and at the same time contributing to regulating water sources, supporting flood reduction and water supply for production and living in downstream areas.
To ensure the safety of dams and downstream areas, the Company strictly implements regulations on disaster prevention and control, dam safety, reservoirs and Inter-reservoir operation procedures in the Ba River basin.
Inspection and supervision of dams, works, and equipment are carried out regularly; risks affecting project safety are reviewed and assessed to promptly update disaster response plans and emergency situations.

Along with that, the Company has arranged 143 flood warning markers, 129 warning signs, warning signs and instruction signs, remote flood warning station systems, warning sirens at spillways and communication facilities to serve notification when regulating and discharging water.
At the underground spillway locations, there are 4 road barriers arranged to limit people and vehicles from entering the dangerous area.
Before the 2026 rainy and flood season, the Company has coordinated propaganda, through which warning information is promptly transmitted, contributing to raising awareness and response capacity of people in downstream areas.
When there is a warning signal or regulation notice, water discharge, people need to quickly leave the riverbed, riverbank and areas at risk of unsafety.
People should not arbitrarily enter prohibited areas, dangerous areas, do not go down to the riverbed, especially in areas near the factory discharge gate and places with strong currents to ensure safety of life and property, especially during the rainy and flood season.
