On June 20, the Minister of Agriculture and Environment signed a Decision to provide 160 tons of rice seeds without collecting fees from the national reserve to support Hue City in overcoming the damage after the storm. Accordingly, Thua Thien Hue Crop - Livestock Seed Joint Stock Company will be responsible for producing 100 tons of Khang Dan 18 rice seeds and 60 tons of Huong Thom 1 rice seeds, both of which are original varieties.

The above rice varieties will be used to restore crop production for households heavily affected by the recent natural disasters. The issuance and delivery of seeds will be carried out in accordance with current regulations on national reserve goods.
The Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee is assigned the responsibility to direct the reception, management and effective organization of the use of the rice varieties distributed, ensuring the correct subjects and support purposes. At the same time, the City People's Committee must also be fully responsible for the data reporting on the damage caused by natural disasters as well as the use of seed sources received from the Central Government.
This decision was issued based on the proposal of the People's Committee of Hue City in Official Dispatch No. 7765/UBND-NN dated June 18, 2025 on requesting support for rice varieties to overcome the consequences of storm No. 1.
Previously, storm No. 1 caused great damage to the local summer-autumn rice crop, seriously affecting agricultural production of people in affected areas.
The timely issuance of seed sources from national reserves is expected to help Hue City residents soon restore production, stabilize their lives, and minimize economic damage after natural disasters.
