Supplying nearly 20 kindergartens and primary schools in Dan Phuong
Many parents in Dan Phuong and Hoai Duc districts (Hanoi) reacted by not wanting their children to use milk and yogurt products with the brand name "Nui Tan Ba Vi" because of doubts about the quality.
During a working session with the press on the afternoon of September 24, Ms. Bui Thi Thu Hang, Head of the Education and Training Division of Dan Phuong district, said that the incident related to Nui Tan Ba Vi yogurt took place last Wednesday.
“We have received initial information about the incident (parents reported that their children in the area had stomachaches and diarrhea after using milk from Nui Tan Ba Vi Milk Joint Stock Company), however, we have not received any information from any school confirming that the students vomited, had diarrhea or were poisoned due to the milk.”
According to the Head of Division, currently in the area there are 55 schools, of which about 10 kindergartens and 8-9 primary schools are using milk and yogurt products of Nui Tan Ba Vi Milk Joint Stock Company.
Up to today (September 24), there are still some schools that continue to use milk and yogurt products from this unit.
Milk supply without bidding
In Hoai Duc district, the use of products of Nui Tan Ba Vi Milk Joint Stock Company has been taking place for a long time in kindergartens and primary schools.
On September 24, speaking with Lao Dong, Ms. Le Thu Hoai, Principal of Duc Thuong Kindergarten (Hoai Duc, Hanoi) said that Nui Tan Ba Vi yogurt products have been used at the school for 1 year. The supply of milk for the children's meals here is not through bidding.
“The yogurt product (Nui Tan Ba Vi) was provided (to the school) without bidding. The school has used this yogurt (for children) for 1 school year. According to the process, the teachers announced at the school, announced on the website for food companies to come in, made an appointment to submit documents and then sign. Random selection based on the basis of who came first and I see that we will prioritize food suppliers like that,” said the Principal of Duc Thuong Kindergarten.
According to Ms. Hoai, the daily meal for children at school is 30,000 VND, with the main meal accounting for 65% and the snack 35%. Nui Tan Ba Vi yogurt is used for lunch and snack about 2-3 times a week.
Nui Tan Ba Vi Milk Joint Stock Company has just been granted GMP certificate from September 2024.
According to the announcement of Nui Tan Ba Vi Milk Joint Stock Company on the website: https://suanuitan.com, the GMP certificate - a type of certificate with value equivalent to a food hygiene and safety license in Vietnam has only been granted to this company from September 10, 2024.
However, according to Ms. Le Thu Hoai, Principal of Duc Thuong Kindergarten, this company's yogurt products have been used for all students of the school since 1 year ago.
Notably, Nui Tan Ba Vi Milk Joint Stock Company located in Bon village, Van Hoa commune, Ba Vi district (Hanoi) has only started operating since July 12, 2022.
