On the morning of February 28, the Da Nang City Charity and Children's Rights Protection Association organized a program to celebrate the 28th anniversary of its founding, receive the First Class Labor Medal and meet at the beginning of the Warm Spring of Humanity.
At the program, Mr. Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, said: "The City Charity and Protection of Children's Rights Association has been performing its responsibilities very well. That is an effort to gather domestic and foreign organizations and individuals rich in humanity, enthusiasm, and dedication from humanitarian, charitable and protection of children's rights activities".
Mr. Chinh added that the City's Charity and Protection of Children's Rights Association has accompanied the city's programs such as 5 No, 3 Yes, 4 An, hunger eradication and poverty reduction policies, Directive 04 of the City Party Committee, national target program for children... to actively contribute to supporting social crimes, promoting the city's socio-economic development.
According to the Association for Charity and Protection of Children's Rights of Da Nang City, from a small group, it has initially developed with more than 12,535 members and 1,025 affiliated associations and clubs. Over the past 28 years, this unit has built 730 new houses and repaired and upgraded more than 570 houses for poor households with children, awarded scholarships to 43,770 poor students, supported the study of more than 130 poor children and 175 poor students, many of whom have graduated from university and have stable jobs.
The Mother Sponsorship Program has supported 32 children with 960 million VND. The Association has examined and distributed free medicine to hundreds of thousands of poor people, donated over 7,500 wheelchairs, hand-carrying vehicles, special vehicles to people with disabilities and children with cerebral palsy... With the total value of the Association's activities over the past 28 years reaching more than 600 billion VND.
On this occasion, the Da Nang City Charity and Children's Rights Protection Association received the First Class Labor Medal from the President.
