Speaking with Lao Dong, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huu Hung - Head of Vinh Loc District Police said that, implementing the direction of superiors to ensure the lives and property of the people, from the early evening of September 23, the forces in the district mobilized more than 1,000 people to participate in the response, of which the police force had more than 100 people, all of whom were experienced officers and soldiers in responding to natural disasters.

Senior Lieutenant colonel Nguyen Huu Hung said that all night long, officers and soldiers had been wading through deep water and cold rain to build a small dike inside the dike to raise water to reduce water pressure from outside the dike using the communicating vessel method.

"More than 1 million cubic meters of sand and rock were put into bags by the forces, sunk into deep water to create a foundation, and then built a dike above. The whole night, the soldiers worked very hard, but because of their duty and for the peace of the people, everyone tried their best to complete the task" - Chief of Vinh Loc District Police said.

On local social networking sites, images of officers and soldiers wading in water to patch and fix the leaking dike were spread with many touching compliments and gratitude.
